Pivot3 Named a Visionary

Gartner announced the 2016 Magic Quadrant for Integrated Systems, naming Pivot3 as a Visionary. The Magic Quadrant methodology provides a competitive positioning of four types of technology providers in fast growing markets, including Integrated Stack Systems, Integrated Infrastructure Systems and Hyperconverged Integrated Systems. Companies are evaluated on their ability to execute and their completeness of vision.

We would like to point out that of the 19 vendors listed on this year’s Quadrant, there are only five pure-play hyperconverged companies- of those five, Pivot3 is the only vendor listed as a Visionary and one of three that made it to the right side of the Quadrant.

This marks a significant leap for us from 2015 – from a Niche player to a Visionary. Our new position demonstrates our clarity in vison, the expansion of use cases on Pivot3’s platform, increased market understanding, our innovative roadmap and our ability to execute as that roadmap matures.

Hyperconvergence continues to disrupt both the integrated systems market and markets for legacy three-tier IT infrastructure. According to Gartner, “By 2019, approximately 30% of the global storage array capacity installed in enterprise data centers will be deployed on software-defined storage (SDS) or hyperconverged integrated system (HCIS) architectures based on x86 hardware systems, up from less than 5% today.”

As the market and available offerings evolve, Pivot3 will continue to build our proven success with large-scale performance, lower costs, ease-of-use and our advanced data protection algorithms “that have evolved over seven generations to tolerate up to five simultaneous failures, while maintaining acceptable levels of performance during the rebuild process.”

Our Visionary position is great for Pivot3, and builds on our recent placement as a Leader in the Forrester Wave for Hyperconverged Infrastructure: Q3 2016. As we continue to roll out our technology roadmap in the coming months, customers will have more options to natively integrate our hyperconverged infrastructure solutions with existing legacy system applications to eliminate the complexity of today’s SANs. Additionally, our Dynamic Quality of Service engine will be enabled through simple dashboard controls that allow dynamic resource allocation to meet SLA requirements and run multiple-mixed workloads on a single system.
