Pivot3 RAIGE Array Overview

A RAIGE Array is a scale-out iSCSI storage area network (SAN) where the aggregate performance and capacity of hardware appliances, called Databanks, are managed as a single pool of logical storage. Databank appliances are connected with standard Gigabit Ethernet networks, discovered automatically and assigned to a RAIGE Array. The RAIGE Operating System runs on each appliance to aggregate the physical resources of the appliances, automatically load balance across the appliances and protect against component failures.

The RAIGE Array supports high availability by eliminating any single point of failure, high performance by aggregating controller and bandwidth resources, and scale-out capacity with up to 144TBs of shared storage per array where multiple arrays can be easily managed.

Key Components

DatabankTM Appliances

Databank appliances are the hardware platform for the RAIGE Array product line. Each Databank contributes 12 terabytes of storage capacity along with a distributed RAID controller, RAM, and shared bandwidth to the expandable array.

RAIGE OS

The RAIGE Operating System (OS) aggregates the capacity and performance of the appliances, presents a single logical management view, supports dynamic expansion of the array, and protects against hardware failures.
