vSTAC™ VDI Appliance

STACKABLE VIRTUAL DESKTOP INFRASTRUCTURE (VDI) APPLIANCES

  • High-performance VDI platform
  • Simplify VDI design and speed VDI pilots
  • Reduce CapEx and OpEx by up to 40%
  • Eliminate storage as a barrier to deployment

The Pivot3 vSTAC™

vSTAC VDI Appliances deliver high-performance compute and storage resources that scale as appliances are “stacked” together. Each vSTAC VDI Appliance contributes a high-performance vSphere environment along with scale-out SSD and disk storage resources. Three to eight appliances can be stacked and dynamically expanded as demand grows.

Key Features

High-performance VDI Platform

Users can run over 100 virtual desktops on each vSTAC VDI Appliance. Scale VDI compute, storage and network resources linearly by adding appliances. Storage performance is automatically load-balanced across appliances to ensure that virtual desktops receive the optimal resources, regardless of which appliance they are running on.

Simplify VDI Design and Speed VDI Trials

Configure your VDI deployment in minutes instead of hours or days. The Pivot3 Confguration Tool directly converts desktop virtualization user profiles into an infrastructure configuration. And since performance needs can vary in the feld, Pivot3 reduces support risk with an appliance model that allows for simple dynamic scaling as new users are added or user profles change.

Improve CAPEX and OPEX

Pivot3 consolidates server and storage resources into a single hardware platform to reduce power, cooling, rackspace and cost over systems with separate physical servers and physical storage. Future planning is easy with an appliance model that offers the same cost basis at one hundred virtual desktops or ten thousand virtual desktops.

Eliminate Storage as a VDI Barrier

VDI has a set of demanding storage requirements that can be daunting to administrators familiar with desktops and servers. Pivot3 has found a way to bypass the steep learning curve on storage and avoid the heart-stopping investment required by over-provisioned conventional SAN or NAS systems. The appliance approach allows administrators to respond quickly to changing desktop demands in the feld.
