Inception comes to VDI: a Webinar

June 4, 2012 | Posted by Sam Chapman

We recently began planning for a webinar series to introduce users to VMware View 5.1 running on Pivot3 vSTAC™ VDI appliances.  While we are excited to show what the solution can do, what really excites us is the way in which we are going to deliver the webinar.

We, the Pivot3 crew and VMware, want users to really get a taste for what it is like to use and administer a virtual desktop.  So, we structured the webinar so that users login to a virtual desktop and then login to the webinar from the virtual desktop.  Kind of a picture within a picture – we kidded that we’re running Inception for webinars.

After numerous practice sessions and dry runs, we launched the first webinar last week, and I’m pleased to report that it went off without a hitch.  Now that we know the thing really works, we’re rolling out additional sessions of “Driver’s Ed: Test Drive VMware View 5.1.”

During our Driver’s Ed webinar you will:

  • Login to your own virtual desktop running on a remote Pivot3 VDI array as we explore VMware View 5.1 entirely using desktop virtualization
  • Run interactive exercises operating your virtual desktop to see it for yourself
  • Experience View 5.1’s new and cool features interactively
  • Explore Pivot3’s vSTAC VDI features and performance in support of View 5.1

If you’ve ever wondered if VDI was for you, I invite you to join us at one of our sessions to learn more.
