With the rise of global security threats and enhanced regulations around data security and privacy, CIOs and CISOs need to automate and simplify the process of protecting sensitive, mission-critical data without compromising performance.
This week, we announced new policy-based security management capabilities in our Intelligence Engine that allow organizations to automate and simplify the process of protecting sensitive data with comprehensive, standards-based security for encryption and key management. These easy to use policies allow customers to seamlessly integrate data encryption and key management into the same workflow for managing applications and storage.
These enhancements to our core platform also facilitate regulatory compliance as customers acquire and manage data across the edge, core and cloud, bringing confidence to IT teams with the knowledge that data is secured and protected as it moves across the entire hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Addressing Regulation and Compliance Issues
The Intelligence Engine’s policy-based security management includes flexible, secure multi-tenancy and data-at-rest encryption at a system, volume or virtual machine level, compliant with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2, as well as data encryption algorithms that leverage Intel® Xeon CPUs AES New Instructions (AES NI) to ensure minimal performance impact and low overhead. Additionally, Key management is integrated into the new security policies and supports the Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) standards to provide broad support of key managers.
Broadening Security Feature Portfolio Through Partnerships
As part of our technology alliance partner ecosystem, Pivot3 offers HyTrust KeyControl, which integrates seamlessly with policy-based security management. This enables enterprises to easily manage all encryption keys at scale, including how often keys are rotated and how they are shared securely.
As organizations continue to adopt hyperconverged infrastructure, they will increasingly have mixed workload environments where key management must be an integral part of securing the infrastructure. The new capabilities in our Intelligence Engine will further simplify security management for enterprises and extend the industry preference for HyTrust KeyControl in a world where data must be secured no matter where it resides.
Automation and Intelligence for the Software-defined Datacenter and Beyond
As organizations rise to the challenge of addressing emerging security threats and changing regulations, automation and intelligence will become indispensable to maintaining a secure infrastructure across the edge, core and cloud. The addition of policy-based security management features to our Intelligence Engine drastically simplifies the process of protecting sensitive and mission-critical data and enables our customers to succeed in their software-defined datacenter and digital transformation initiatives.
